Junior Gym

Coach-led, fun gym sessions designed to help young people build strength, confidence, coordination, and resilience.

Kids Gym (8–10) | Tweens Gym (11–12)

Strength & Fitness for Ages 8–12

At Freedom Fitness we introduce young people to the gym in a safe, structured and supportive environment.

Our youth programs are designed to help children build strength, confidence, coordination and resilience, while learning how to move well and enjoy being active.

All sessions are coach-led and age appropriate, using equipment and exercises suited to each stage of development.

Our Junior Gym is divided into two groups to ensure each child trains at the right stage of development:

Kids Gym (Age 8–10)
Tweens Gym (Age 11–12)

Small class sizes ensure every participant receives guidance, encouragement and proper coaching.

Kids Gym

Our Kids Gym is designed for children aged 8 to 10 and provides a fun and supportive introduction to the gym environment.

Sessions are coach-led and focus on developing strong movement foundations while keeping the sessions engaging and enjoyable.

Children learn key movement patterns such as squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, jumping and balancing. These skills help develop coordination, body awareness and strength.

Activities include movement games, skill drills and simple strength exercises using age-appropriate equipment.

The goal is to help children develop confidence in their abilities and a positive relationship with exercise while building the foundations that will support them as they grow.

Tweens Gym

The Tweens Gym builds on these foundations and introduces young people to more structured strength training.

Sessions are still fun and engaging, but the focus becomes more structured as participants learn proper gym technique and build strength safely.

Tweens learn important movement patterns such as squatting, hinging, pressing and pulling.

We use tools such as PVC pipes to teach barbell movements, allowing participants to practise technique safely before progressing to age-appropriate weights.

Sessions include strength work, fitness circuits and skill-based challenges that help develop strength, coordination and confidence.

Beyond the physical benefits, we often see huge improvements in confidence, resilience and self-esteem as tweens become more capable in the gym environment.

What Happens In A Session?

Each session follows a structured format designed to keep young people engaged while developing real strength and movement skills.
